The Board of Directors of Agape Villages, Inc., at a meeting held earlier today, named Janet L. Kleyn, to the position of President and CEO of the organization. Kleyn was selected to permanently fill the position vacated by the resignation of Richard M. Blythe in May. She had filled the position on an interim basis pending completion of a search for Blythe's replacement.
Kleyn has been associated with Agape Villages, Inc. since 1998 in various capacities, first as Vice President and chief financial officer and later as its President from 2005 to 2007. She also serves as a member of Agape's Board of Directors.
This year marks the 50-year anniversary of the organization's involvement in serving needy, neglected, abused and abandoned children, first through the operation of Sierra Children's Home in Vacaville, and since 1994 as Agape Villages, Inc., a foster care agency serving counties in the Bay Area and the Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto region. A celebration of that event is planned to be held in October.
